Down with built-in stay
Designed to introduce basic obedience training concepts in order to help you address your dog's most annoying behavior problems, such as pulling on the leash, barking or chewing inappropriately, counter-surfing, and jumping up, sessions are one hour each and span approximately 2 months. We go at a pace that is comfortable for you and conducive to achieving your desired behavior goals. The owner does the majority of the handling under the guidance of a Certified Professional Trainer, with the trainer stepping in to introduce new skills to the dog and demonstrate handling techniques when necessary.

At the end of training, both owner and dog have been introduced to and practiced the necessary skills and concepts to achieve better behavior. Long-term behavior modification results are achieved as the owner continues to work on these skills on an on-going basis even after the four sessions have been completed.

Puppy Basics (For puppies age 8 to 16 weeks)
Proper handling during the first year of your dog's life can help you avoid behavior problems such as aggression, fearfulness, and separation anxiety later on. A Certified Professional Trainer provides you with in-home, one-on-one help for common puppy issues including setting up an effective potty-training routine, addressing inappropriate chewing and play biting, acclimating to the crate and leash, socialization, and disciplining your puppy without creating fear or anxiety. The initial session lasts two hours. Additional sessions are scheduled as-needed.

Choosing a Dog Trainer that's Right for You
Drop your dog off at boarding school for 21 days (20 nights) to see results that would otherwise take several months to achieve in private lessons. Your dog learns commands, better manners, and new behavior expectations, including off-leash proficiency, through four to five training sessions each day and gradual, controlled immersion into a functional household in order to practice their new skills in a more realistic setting.

Your dog is returned to your home at the end of the 21st day and re-acclimated to his home environment and family under the guidance of a Certified Professional Trainer and the new behavior expectations. After your dog has done his job learning the commands, you will be taught how to use the commands and training tools to reinforce expectations both on leash and off leash around your home and yard, on walks and in public places, and in the car. This training is transitioned to you over the course of five in-home follow-up lessons, in addition to the go-home lesson performed when your dog is returned to you. Find out why you are an integral part of your dog's training even after they complete a board and train program!

How to know if you Need a Dog Trainer
Private Lessons - Off Leash Reliability (10 sessions)
Designed to get your dog to off-leash reliability in open space: at the park, the cabin, etc., sessions are intensive and goal-oriented, lasting one hour each and spanning approximately 4 to 6 months. The owner does the majority of the handling under the guidance of a Certified Professional Trainer, with the trainer stepping in to introduce new skills to the dog and demonstrate handling techniques when necessary. Skills are introduced and proofed on leash initially, and gradually progress off leash.

Commands include heel with an automatic sit, sit with built-in stay, down with built-in stay, placemat, and come, in addition to commands to help teach better behavior such as stop barking, off (don't jump up), and wait. Commands and training instill self control, focus, and responsiveness, meaning not only is your dog reliable off leash, they're also better-behaved around the house.
